There are just 23 days remaining until the self assessment tax return deadline hits. HMRC have announced that over 5 million taxpayers still need to file their returns.
If you miss the deadline you will face a £100 fine, even if you have no tax to pay. This could be a costly mistake. If you still don’t file after 3 months, you’ll be hit with daily penalties which will soon rack up.
However - there is still time to file your return and avoid these penalties.
