Delivery Drivers - HMRC Focus

HMRC have been contacting individuals who worked as delivery drivers in 2023/24 and were not paid through pay as you earn. The letters and emails explain that they need to complete a tax return for 2023/24 if they had self-employment income over £1,000 a year.

If a return is required, then the following action should be taken:
Register for self assessment
Submit a tax return for 2023/24
Pay tax due as soon as possible
Consider whether a voluntary disclosure to HMRC for earlier years is necessary
If you receive one of these letters from HMRC then please do get in touch with us to see how we can help. We can be contacted on katie@bluearrowaccounting.co.uk or 07586163344.
